Beginnings

The Carrington community garden has arrived!!

On Saturday 3rd September 2011 the Carrington community garden had its first working bee. The day was a great success with the first six garden beds being established and some planting taking place. There was a great turn out from the people of Carrington and the many hands made for light work. It was great to see people from all walks of life get in and lend a hand to make the garden get off the ground. Judging by the great turn out it wont be too long before we will need to create more garden beds.

We also had a successful fund raising BBQ with the support of the Carrington Bowling Club and the Carrington Bakehouse. Big thanks to both buisnesses for supporting the community garden. We encourage everyone to support the bowling club by becoming a member.

We are planning some more planting this Tuesday from 5pm, please come along and help out. There will also be a meeting in the next couple of weeks to discuss some outstanding issues, date and time to be advised.

Oh and here are a couple of pictures…
